Creating a Constructive Video Conferencing Room

Creating a Constructive Video Conferencing Room

Meeting environments for Interactive Telepresence are ideally designed for the purpose of delivering a totally virtual (but realistic) experience that mirrors “Being There.” This includes:

  • Conference Room dimensions
  • Table shape
  • Video conferencing equipment placement –screen layout, proximity of participants to screens
  • Conference Room acoustic treatments
  • Fabrics
  • Colors
  • Lighting Design
  • Number of participants per conference room (maximum number, minimum number, relationship to participant numbers in other room(s), etc.)
  • Intent of usage (multi-purpose vs. dedicated rooms)

Some customers want to rebuild conference rooms to create the perfect telepresence experience while most customers want to fit the telepresence experience into existing conference rooms. Either way, we work with facilities' personnel to determine the level of changes that are both mandatory and optional to ensure the best video conferencing experience can be provided based on customer preferences. We have found that our customers want to retain the look and feel of their conference rooms and therefore do not want to create spaces that are substantially different. Unlike most of our competitors, VirtuaLive™ systems allow you to retain your conference room look and feel so that meeting participants interact the same way whether meetings are local only or with other locations through the use of telepresence. We believe that the more a VirtuaLive™ enabled room can look and feel like the rest of a company's conference rooms, the more likely that we can achieve the objective of truly simulating the interactions of in-person meetings with video conferencing.
