One of the major failings of traditional video conferencing solutions was that they required meeting participants to remember how to operate the controls to set up and run the video conference meeting. Most of us cannot remember how to use the remote controls for our home TV's even though we probably use them every day. Meeting participants become truly flustered when they have to negotiate through multiple options and menu layers. They want to start the meeting but they cannot because they have to start the technology. Alternatively companies have hired teams of support people to preset meetings in each location and be available when problems occur.
VirtuaLive™ Telepresence rooms are fully set-up and tested before anyone walks into a conference room for each meeting. There are no controls for users to fumble with because meeting participants would not have to operate controls to participate in an in-person meeting. The presets are based on the number of people that have been invited to the meeting and the number of locations participating in the meeting. We place a very limited set of user controls in each video conference room that can include:
- Local volume
- Audio conference dialing (that connects all rooms to a call being dialed from any of the rooms)
- Privacy on or off
- Mute
- Fast connect to the Teliris Video Operating System to request changes to a meeting setup or to report a problem
Instant Meetings
We also provide an instant in-room meeting set-up control that allows you to instantly select cities and number of participants per city as well as drop or add a city during the meeting. The room will automatically configure itself and notify the VNOC to monitor the equipment and service to ensure maximum performance.
