NEW YORK, N.Y. (October 17, 2005) - Teliris Ltd., the leading provider of life-like videoconferencing systems, today announced that it will significantly expand its U.S.-based capabilities with construction of a new video network operations center, R&D lab and demonstration facility in New York City.
The new facility, to be built at 369 Lexington Avenue, will mirror Teliris’ state-of-the-art UK center, which provides a 24/7 remote management, problem detection and resolution service for customers of the company’s VirtuaLive™ videoconferencing systems. The U.S. video network operations center will support the firm’s growing base of customers, who rely on VirtuaLive™’s guarantee of 99+ percent technical reliability.
The U.S. facility will include a research and development lab dedicated to the growth of next generation, video-based, collaboration technologies. Additionally, a demonstration area will enable prospects to experience VirtuaLive™’s CD-quality audio, DVD-quality images and multi-screen Virtual Vectoring room configuration. Virtual Vectoring maximizes the location of cameras, microphones, speakers and screens as well as manages the electronic placement of images and their associated sound across many locations so that people appear and sound as they would in an in-person meeting.
Together, Teliris’ technologies replicate a highly realistic "eye-to-eye" interaction among participants at multiple sites, who are able to collaborate as if they were meeting around the same table. Companies employing VirtuaLive™ report that they operate more efficiently across geographic regions and time zones, eliminating the need for costly, unproductive long distance travel. More importantly, because of the life-like experience across multiple locations, companies are able to make decisions faster and resolve problems when they occur, rather than waiting until people can gather from distant locations to interact in-person.
“This new facility underscores our commitment to U.S. customers and enhances our ability to provide a highly reliable, life-like videoconferencing solution virtually anywhere in the world,” said Marc Trachtenberg, Co-Founder and CTO, Teliris.
