NEW YORK –August 1, 2005 - Teliris Ltd., a leading provider of life-like videoconferencing systems, announced that GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), the research-based pharmaceutical and healthcare company, is expanding global installation of Teliris' fully managed VirtuaLive™ service. The new rooms, located in Upper Providence, Pennsylvania and Verona, Italy, will replace GSK's traditional videoconferencing suites, creating a multipoint virtual collaboration environment capable of replicating the human dynamics of live meetings.
With over a 99 percent level of technical reliability, Teliris VirtuaLive™ delivers the most life-like videoconferencing environment available in the market. Informed by human factor research, the company's Virtual Vectoring room configuration, coupled with DVD-quality images and no-delay audio, replicates an in-person meeting experience by capturing and transmitting visual and auditory cues such as facial expressions, gestures, emotions and even side comments.
Marc Trachtenberg, Teliris' co-founder and vice chairman, said, “This large-scale adoption by GSK is further validation of VirtuaLive™'s value as a complete corporate communications tool. The pharmaceutical giant is part of a growing assemblage of blue chip companies that are realizing unprecedented gains in productivity and efficiency through VirtuaLive™ videoconferencing systems.”
Teliris completed the installation of 10 VirtuaLive™ collaboration rooms for GSK in September of 2003. These are located at the company's headquarters in London, at its US operations based out of Research Triangle Park, N.C and Philadelphia, P.A. and at research facilities in Stevenage, Greenford and Harlow, England. The contract also includes a completely outsourced management model from Teliris, including the company's InfiNET voice, data, and video-enabled network transport solution.
Participants using VirtuaLive™ experience no-delay, CD-quality sound and DVD-quality images. These are displayed on multiple, large, strategically placed plasma screens, replicating a highly realistic “eye-to-eye” interaction that enables participants to collaborate as if they were working around the same table.
“Businesses using the Teliris VirtuaLive™ system actually change the way they work - better leveraging senior talent, collaborating more effectively, making faster decisions and operating far more productively,” said Trachtenberg.
