NEW YORK, N.Y. - October 12, 2006 - Teliris, the leading provider of telepresence solutions, announced today the industry's first end-to-end broadcast quality HD offering featuring camera-to-distant-display HD that further improves the in-person quality of virtual meetings.
Available as an optional enhancement for all Teliris' fourth generation VirtuaLive™ product offerings, customers will be able to experience the no compromise image clarity that includes absolute smooth motion, highly accurate color palate and fine detail resolution to truly recreate the dynamics of an in-person meeting as well as to enhance the ability to see up-close product attributes, packaging media campaigns, storyboards and other product development details that have traditionally required a face-to-face meeting.
"The simulated-HD videoconferencing solutions of other vendors do not even live up to our previously available DVD broadcast quality standard and certainly cannot be used to replace in-person meetings that require the level of detail needed when reviewing products and ideas," said Marc Trachtenberg, Teliris' co-founder and CEO. "Teliris' VirtuaLive™ HD solution provides the first environment for true distant interactions where details matter."
Teliris' HD capability uses 60 frames-per-second/720p digitally end-to-end, which enables a higher number of pixels to flow seamlessly through the system without delays and eliminating artifacting for all locations. While many other vendors utilize a single-chip camera, Teliris solutions feature a triple-chip camera to ensure the maximum capture of information. Teliris' VirtuaLive™ HD delivers broadcast quality HD with the same 99+ percent reliable low latency attributes of its VirtuaLive™ systems between any points in the world.
VirtuaLive™ HD also allows users to increase the scale of images without loss of image quality. Teliris' customers will be able to take advantage of its modular, scalable architecture utilize VirtuaLive™ HD as a high-quality foundation to take full advantage of Teliris' plans to further improve the quality of life-like images across multiple displays.
In common with standard definition, VirtuaLive™ solutions, VirtuaLive™ HD is delivered through the Teliris managed service with end-to-end ownership of a very high service level backed up by clear contractual commitments and years of successful delivery experience. This results in unparalleled reliability, affordable solutions and simplification of the customer's operations.
"We are able to deliver this true broadcast quality HD solution at a lower cost than our competitors charge for standard definition telepresence solutions," added Mr. Trachtenberg. "This is a breakthrough in quality and price that will let businesses use video-based meetings for their most demanding collaboration needs."
Teliris' life-like video conferencing solutions offer superior quality images and no-delay audio, realistically replicating an in-person meeting experience by capturing and transmitting visual and auditory cues such as minute facial expressions, gestures, emotional reactions and even side comments.
Teliris' VirtuaLive™ solutions deliver the most realistic, cost effective and reliable telepresence environment available in the market. The company's multi-point meeting technology ensures normal eye contact between individuals across multiple locations simultaneously and accommodates the highest number of participants - all transmitted over a highly engineered and secure network.
As recently reported in the Wall Street Journal on September 28, 2006, Teliris is a leader in telepresence. Others that have entered the telepresence and life-like video conferencing space include HP Halo, Cisco Unified Communications and Polycom RPX.
